Tummy Tuck Procedures & Choices
One of the biggest decisions to face before your abdominoplasty is to decide which tummy tuck procedure would be best for your personal circumstances and for the results that you want to achieve. The most important factor, should be your discussion with the surgeon in your tummy tuck surgery consultation.
One of your main considerations will undoubtedly be any scarring that is left following the surgery. Unfortunately, it is inevitable that a scar will remain after the surgery as the abdominoplasty procedure involves the removal of excess skin. The before and after pictures below will help to give you some idea of the scars left following abdominoplasty. You will notice how they follow the bikini line.
The photos below will also show you the dramatic results that can be achieved through the tummy tuck procedure.
Abdominoplasty Before and After Surgery Photographs
The picture shows the before and after comparison for full abdominoplasty. The excess skin and fat or "love handles" have been removed revealing a much improved body contour around the patient's waist.
The full abdominoplasty shown here has had a dramatic effect on this patient's figure. The overhanging belly has been completely removed, along with the excess skin from the overhang. Excess fat has been surgically removed and liposuctioned away from the lower and middle abdomen. The natural body curves and figure can now be seen in the after pictures (top and bottom right).
The patient must have been very pleased with these results!
The tummy tuck for this patient has been effective in producing a much flatter tummy (top right vs bottom right).
This photo shows the abdominoplasty scar only one week after surgery. The scar looks clean and is starting to heal well. The tummy looks flat and the body contour is nice and trim.
The appearance of a typical tummy tuck scar well after surgery and healing has settled down. Note that it follows the bikini line and so can easily be covered.
